an East Nashville before and after
We love to see a house come together from the ground up but there is just something about taking what is old and making it new again. That first swipe of the sander when the wood is brought back to its original raw condition is so satisfying. The choices are endless with what happens from there. Light, dark, natural, brown, gray, black, water based, European oil? So many choices with solid 3/4” hardwood.
She didn’t always look like this but keep scrolling for the transformation.
The before of the family room. I had the pleasure of designing and styling this cute little East Nashville bungalow in addition to us refinishing the hardwood.
Tom taking a look at the kitchen floor to see what he has ahead of him.
Still assessing the condition of this really old wood.
Some of the boards will have to be replaced.
See?
First cut of sanding, already looking so much better but we will need to go dark on this one.
Stain is on
Floors are finished, trim installed, everything painted and furnishings are starting to come in.
Remember this view?
We turned it into a butler’s pantry. I love the deep navy cabinetry against the rich brown hardwood floors.
And this view of the family room?
She’s all dressed up and ready to go.
